Overview

Datacenter Siting scores candidate parcels for datacenter development using acreage, transmission-line proximity, substation proximity, and other siting constraints. It helps screen large parcels near grid infrastructure quickly.

How to use

Navigate to a region

Pan and zoom to the area you want to screen. The app requires zoom level 10 or higher to load parcels.

Set minimum acreage

Use the acreage filter to screen for parcels of at least 10, 20, 50, or 100 acres.

Read the scores

Parcels are colored by site score on a 0–100 gradient — gray (low) to amber to green (high). Transmission lines appear as dashed red lines; substations as red dots.

Review top candidates

The side panel lists the top 12 candidates with score badge, acreage, and distance to the nearest grid infrastructure. Click a candidate to fly to it.

Inspect parcels

Click any parcel for score, address, land use, acres, and grid/substation distances.

Scoring

The site score combines parcel size, proximity to transmission lines, and proximity to substations. Larger parcels closer to high-capacity grid infrastructure score higher. The score is a screening tool, not a definitive suitability assessment.
