Find your lot lines from your phone
Overview
My Parcel uses your phone's live GPS to identify the parcel beneath you and displays its boundary, acreage, ownership, and assessed value. It's designed for on-site use — walk to a property line and see exactly where it is. Tap AR to swap the map for the camera and see the same boundary drawn over the ground in front of you.
How to use
Enable location
Tap "Use my location" and grant GPS permission when prompted. The app uses high-accuracy positioning to pinpoint your parcel.
See your parcel
Your current parcel is highlighted in green with a gold boundary. Neighboring parcels are shown in gold outline.
Read parcel details
The bottom info sheet shows the parcel address, land use description, acreage, assessed value, and owner status.
Walk around
As you move, the app updates to show whichever parcel you're standing on. Use the recenter button to snap the map back to your GPS position.
Hold up the camera
Tap AR to overlay the boundary on the live camera. Grant camera and motion access when prompted; the lot lines are drawn on the ground where they run, your own parcel is shaded, and each of its corners is pinned with the walking distance to it.
AR view
The AR view places the parcel boundary in the camera image using three inputs: your GPS position, the phone's compass and tilt sensors, and an assumed camera field of view. It draws lot lines on the ground plane out to 180 m, shades the parcel you're standing in, and pins its corners with distances in feet. Cardinal ticks (N, NE, E…) sit on the horizon so you can tell at a glance which way you're facing.
It is a sighting aid, not a survey. Two things move the lines: your GPS fix (the ± figure in the top bar shifts the whole overlay) and the magnetometer, which is routinely a few degrees out and drifts near cars, fences and phone cases with magnets. When a line looks rotated off a corner you can identify, use the −2° / +2°buttons to trim the heading until it lines up; the reset arrow clears the trim. If the top bar shows “No compass”, the browser only reported a relative heading — the tilt is right but the bearing is arbitrary, and the overlay can't be trusted for direction.
AR is a phone feature and the button only appears on one: it needs a touchscreen handheld with a rear camera and motion sensors, served over HTTPS. On a laptop the map view is the whole app. On iOS you'll be asked for “Motion & Orientation” access on the first tap; if you decline, Safari will not ask again until you re-enable it in Settings › Safari.
Accuracy
The accuracy indicator shows your GPS precision as a radius (e.g., ±5 m). On a clear day with open sky, modern phones typically achieve 3–10 m accuracy. Indoor or urban-canyon use will reduce accuracy.
Demo mode
If GPS is unavailable or denied, the app falls back to a demo mode centered on Downtown Miami so you can explore the interface.
Data layers
Parcel boundaries, addresses, acreage, assessed value, ownership, and land use from the nationwide parcel layer covering 3,230 counties.
Coverage
Parcel data is available for 3,230 counties nationwide. If you're not standing on a mapped parcel, you'll see a message indicating that parcel data isn't available for your current location.
